With the RIGIFOILS, it’s as if the CALYPSO 2 had twice as many cells!
The leading edge is perfectly maintained, as if it were 85!!! It is more than a EN-C glider which usually has between 60 and 80 cells!
Several manufacturers work on the leading edge in a similar way: it seems to be a very good way to improve performance without weighing down or stiffening the paraglider.

The Rigifoil, evolved
A new feature on the Calypso 2 is a small half rib with a Nitinol rod and a short tensioning string between top and bottom cells in the leading edge. Like the original patented Rigifoil system, this helps maintain the precise shape of the leading edge, which has wide ranging benefits in terms of flying characteristics. Inflation, stability, handling and performance are all significantly improved.
